The bearings were starting to go under hard pedaling on hills while standing and I bent a chainwheel on a trek through a limestone bike path that I frequent. A stone got jammed in between two of the chainwheels.
More importantly however, is the fact that phil bb's are top of the line quality parts and veloce is also high quality. I saw the Jamis nova frame as deserving of the higher quality parts.
