I started off using Shimano SPD's (the cheap ones). They worked really well, but I had some pull-out problems that I couldn't adjust away.

So I switched to eggbeaters, and I really like them so far. You can get them quite cheap online.

Wanted to try the Time ATAC's......but they were more expensive.
