I have an earlier Biscayne mixte called the Custom which was manufactured in 1985. The Trident is a newer bike. It should have a label on the seat tube below the front derailleur mount indicating it is from a store called "The Off Ramp". This is a Merida manufactured bike imported for "The Off Ramp" under the Biscayne name. It is a cro-moly frame.

If you want to know more about this bike, call the Santa Clara, CA "The Off Ramp" store and ask for Rob. He has been there 27 years and knows the history of these bikes. They were imported roughly from the late 70's to about 1995.

Mine has Araya rims, Suntour Honor rear derailleur, Suntour 7 front derailleur, Dia-Compe brakes. Dia-Compe brakes have a date code on the levers.
