I think for $125: you stole it! '83 seems plausible, but could be a year or 2 later. My guess is that it was "updated" with newer components (and not retrodated with older stuff) but I'm just guessing. The sticker seems likely to help date it as it's prior to the "SL" or "SP" designation being added. Nice bike, your wife should love it!
