I guess it also depends on the person, some people just heal up faster than others, Im lucky enough to be one of them

EDIT: We used to use a water based lube when inserting nasal canulas, I cant remeber the name of this stuff but it worked well on my road rash, I was coming into work and had a small crash that resulted in bad road rash on my right arm and leg, got to work cleaned it up and slapped some of the gel on it and covered it with a large gauze (the one with the "plastic like" coating on one side) just to keep it from scabbing over for the day, worked out great! just shoot down to your local fire station and ask them. will post the name if I remember =)
