You don't need a new hub, either, if all you want to do is ride fixed and never will use the singlespeed, you can install the fixed cog/sprocket onto the threads where the freewheel is/should be currently, and add a lockring - one of those used for BBs. But in any case, make sure you rotafix the sprocket onto the hub, and add locktite to the lockring's threads.
