Well, that's good news, but remember, the cog must at all times be firmly in place, or else you'll screw the threads at best, and kill yourself at worst. So make sure the cog is rotafixed in place (please see the procedure here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotafix ) and the lockring is tightened down firmly.

As for the warmer weather, no can do, at least not from Finland - we just got an awful snowfall today - I cam home carrying a nice layer of that on myself and my bike.
