How heavy are these bikes? I can't see them being that much heavier than a all steel tourer or a comfoer bike. I think you'd do better asking over in the Touring forum where they're running full luggage and pulling trailers.

And I'm going to be a bit of a jerk too. I'm getting tired of all these companies selling electro-powered whizbangs and being all smarmy about how wonderful they are for the environment. Unless they've got a generator hub or are solar,the batteries powering these things need to be plugged into the grid to be recharged. While it may not be as bad as gas,it's still not the zero impact they like to play it up as.
