wow, that's fantastic. i've seen some of the later model cherubims, the ones presumably made by hiroshi, but not one this early. i would very strongly recommend against having it refinished. you could probably do a lot of careful cleaning and polishing to brighten up the existing paint and chrome, which honestly isn't too bad. the original decals and the painted signature aren't going to be easy to replicate, and even if they were, you'd end up with something that looks more like a reproduction than a piece of history.
