They are fairly inconspicuous. If you know what they look like, you'll recognize it instantly. Otherwise, probably not.

I got mine because I have a nice set of wheels that I wasn't ready to part with, and the $20 on a Shiftmate was better than hundred$ on a new wheelset.

I would prefer NOT to have it (visually) - but that will have to wait until I replace this wheelset.

That being said - mechanically - it has worked perfectly since the beginning.
