The faster SF groups leave from the bridge around 8ish on weekends. Look for the too thin guys/gals with silly tan lines and kits you've never herd of. I use my SS cross bike when I'm gearing up for CX season, so you won't be the only ones without gears. All of the engines are VERY efficient.
