I'm a year round, all weather, every day bicycle commuter.

I'm using a comfortable 7 speed 28" batavus with full automatic lights, hub generator and all that jazz
the derailer isn't used at all... it's permanently in 5th gear, which suits me fine.

planning to convert an old 80's race bicycle to fixed gear for some minimalistic summer fun
given the distance, that should be a lot of fun
