Unfortunately, lengthening the straddle cable reduces a centerpull caliper's braking leverage. Rear brake cable routing has always been a challenge with mixte or step-through frames, and this is one application where my mountain bike's under-chainstay mounting might have made sense.
Thanks for the link to the Rivendell straddle cable ends, since three of my bikes have Weinmann centerpull calipers.
