procedure for installing handlebar, handlebar tape, stem, shifter, etc.
This is going to a very very amateurish question.
So I have a Nitto drop bar. I have ultegra sti shifters. I have not installed bar tape yet. What is the first thing I do? When I just slip the sti shifters onto the handlebar, they are obviously not secure, they slip right off. Is there some sort of mechanism that tightens the shifter onto the handle bar? If so, where is this mechanism? is it a screw I need to tighten? Or do I need use handle bar tape to wrap around the shifter in order to secure it onto the handle bar.
Also do I need to do all this BEFORE installing it onto the stem?
Pictures would help but anything is appreciated.
I am seriously uninformed when it comes to this stuff.
