Thanks to all who took the time to respond and offer advice. I think I'm going to use a basket and some bolts (let's just hope a thief doesn't bring his tools!). I like the messenger bag idea, but I live in the Los Angeles area where it gets pretty warm so there is the sweat factor of carrying a messenger bag/backpack - what good would an unwrinkled jacket do me if I show up smelling funny :-)
