it is a 27 inch alumunum wheel. Almost positive the rim is double walled. Not sure of the name i got it from the bicycle station in brooklyn.
I am not 100 percent sure how it got this way but i think it might have something to do with the way i lock the back tire...i have been using sheldons brown locking stradgy pictured here:

i knew this wasn't the best idea but my kreptonite mini is the most secure lock i have and it is the only way to lock most of the bike up with this simple lock. in the future i will be reconsidering my locking stradegy.
i am not sure what else it could be...what do you think
