I'm torn between the Kona Ute and an Xtracycle. I was thinking about the Big Dummy, but it's going to weigh a ton and for $895 doesn't come with any of the Xtracycle accessories [add on another $350 for those]. The Kona Ute would do just fine equipped with a couple of wire basket panniers and a milk crate. I was also thinking about the intended use - shopping. Do I want to lug 150 lbs of cat litter and frozen chicken home from Safeway? Maybe. Will my wife want me to give her rides all the time? Likely. I was also looking at getting a trailer, which would run me closer to $250 with a 100 lbs weight range, and can go on any bike I own. My birthday is coming up, and I should really decide...
