Could be the chain. Is it well oiled or have any frozen links?
I had a grinding noise coming from my BB area before, but after inspection I found that the chain was extremely dry. Once I put some bioshield on it worked and felt great.
Also make sure that the chain isn’t ribbing on the derailleur.
