Weather 101, Room 244, Science & Technology building, 1 x 1hr lecture:
Pay attention
On days like today, with a strong northerly and moderately warm temperature,
the big blue blob on the weather radar does not give us huge rainfall due to something
called "virga". This is when the rain evaporates before it hits the ground.
So, if you see a huge blue blob with a northerly, like this, it doesn't necessarily mean we're gunna get saturated.
