I'm still giving this some though, but next year when I go to college, depending where I am living I plan on selling my car. We'll see. I only drive it to school in the winter, that's pretty much it.
My son was car free for all but one year of college and is still car free today. His choice.
There are a a lot of options out there depending on where you go to school. He used mass transit and Zip Car while in college. Now he is in grad school in the UK and the mass transit over there is even better than what you get in most places in the US.
