incidentally, isn't the idea to solve existing problems by designing new products rather than creating them?

- more material = more weight
- only compatible with one type of stem
- makes eyes hurt
- increased production cost (both time and money) over standard weld-less risers
- etc

this is as half baked as that wooden bars idea...
