Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

no just attach them straight to the top of the steerer, and then they are handlebar+stem combo... like S-Works, but for the tarck bike

I don't hate them. In limited applications, I might even like them.

Yeah, you gotta have limits. I definitely wouldn't want more than one pair of those on my bike. Two at most.

hmmm. The bars are growing on me. They don't look as bad as yesterday. On the right bike they'd be bangin'

*come to think of it, bar caps/plugs would be pretty simple to stick in the open ends...

They're not so bad. I'd rock them... but not for $40.

Wow. A set of these with only a two inch rise (it's a 3 on the bike) might be pretty dec. I have a bad back so risers are (sadly) a must for me. Am I gonna be the first to take the plunge? I'm puttin together my first bike, let's experiment.

Bikes: Hummer H2

ugliest product of the year.

incidentally, isn't the idea to solve existing problems by designing new products rather than creating them?

- more material = more weight
- only compatible with one type of stem
- makes eyes hurt
- increased production cost (both time and money) over standard weld-less risers
- etc

this is as half baked as that wooden bars idea...

I like threadless+risers but I wouldn't put those things anywhere near my bike and if any of my friends had them on their bike I would punch them in the dick!

^haha

but seriously though, wern't those little kid bars the ones that broke at the welds? not saying these are as weak as those but i'd be grinding my teeth with worry yanking on those things as hard as you might to slow down/move around in traffic on fixed. no offense to the guy making them.

looks like it's made from scraps of other bars that have been narrowed if you ask me.

I think they would look better on a different frame/fork. A straight fork with thick tubing might pull these off.
