MKS pedals should be good to go out of the box and the fact they can be rebuilt is a serious plus.
If you ever come across any Suntour Superbe pedals you should know that they are total and utter crap and that you should send them to me for disposal.
I have been seeing things like this floating all over the net and I just know I will get the set that is not good to go right out of the box. But I really do like their touring model

There are lots of options. If your local shop doesn't have something in stock then ordering something should take just a day or four.

Oh man how I wish. We have 2 bike shops in my county and neither shop has really anything in stock, nor can even do something as simple as true a wheel. Not not do it good, not do it at all, like not even attempt. These are basically glorified Wall-Mart bike departments.
