There are lots of options. If your local shop doesn't have something in stock then ordering something should take just a day or four.

Oh man how I wish. We have 2 bike shops in my county and neither shop has really anything in stock, nor can even do something as simple as true a wheel. Not not do it good, not do it at all, like not even attempt. These are basically glorified Wall-Mart bike departments.
