It was hopeless..the tear was too much to mend--the weather was nice and i took my time...walking in cleats was a tad painful but it was good pain.
So it sounds like the tyre casing was all ripped up? That sucks. And it can be quite embarassing. One way to save yourself that and to also garner a little bit of pity is to take the punctured tyre off and drape it over your shoulder.
Of course then you'll probably want to carry your bike because it's not a good idea to roll it on its bare rims.
