Yes, I believe it is a replacement fork, but fully chromed. Looks like the bike was in a accident at some point before I owned it - I finally noticed a "bump" in the frame (downtube, I think - the diagonal one that goes from the steering tube to the bottom bracket) right next to the steering tube after having owned this thing for nearly 40 years. Hard to believe that someone went to all that trouble for what was an entry level bike - cottered cranks, Huret components.
