I think the main issue is not just that it is expensive, but that it is conspicuous, like driving a Mustang with loud mufflers or something. But then where I live, anything that isn't a rusty conversion is treated like conspicuous consumption. Fortunately we don't have a big theft problem but it seems like even a stock Iro or Steamroller will inspire equal parts curiosity and envy.
