first off, can you really? I mean, many people say that, but not many of them ACTUALLY can handle their bikes well. granted everyone goes down on occasion, but if you are questioning riding in the rain, it might be time for a little more saddle time.
secondly, your tire might have had something to do with it, but I would venture to guess some more experience in foul weather would do the trick.
