I'm commuting 4 to 5 days a week on an '08 Specialized Globe City 6 (Internal gear 8 speed) Currently at 1860+ miles.

The bike is not perfect, but it's proven dependable, comfortable and it's a good looking bike. I paid $910. plus tax, trunk bag, new pedals, battery lights.... you get the idea.

P.S. if you run generator lights, some headlight models have LED pause lights. My system has Halogen front which goes out at stop, red LED rear light that stays on for several minutes at stop. (Also is bright as hell constant red) The front light is just enough for city streets.
