T. Mar, 1979 is probably right. I just checked and yes at the base of the seat tube is a nice scrolly JAPAN decal. The shop where I purchased it had their sticker just above it and I never really noticed that the were two separate decals! I have changed the stem to Cinelli, bars are stock Alps road champiuon, headset is an alloy Stronglight Spidel (won't stay tight!), Stronglight seatpost with Selle Italia Flight Titanium seat. When I get it in picture taking condition, I will try to figure out how it is done. I think it is great that so many people have thought enough of these bikes to restore them. I oinly commute approximately 5 miles, but I really appreciate the smooth ride!
