Bikes: officially too many now...

It is funny, isn't it? The bikes they *are* making probably suit most riders looking for that sort of bike (nomex on!). That is to say: road/relaxedesque geometry, mounts for brakes, bottle cage mounts, sub 1000$ price tag. Now, what everyone says they *want* is different: aggressive as heck angles, top-tier parts, low weight. The geometry is by and large a subjective thing, but you cant blame manufacturers for producing bikes they can sell in volumes instead of (truly) niche-market items.

I know i'll take heat for this, but I just don't see a huge market for a 1500$ GTB or c-dale track bike. People will *want* it, but purchasing is another thing.

Would it hurt/cost more to clean up the nasty compact-frame looking top tube on the gutterball or langster? Would tipping the head angle a degree steeper on a capo really make it 'dangerous' for average riders? I don't think so.
