Wow, that Giant comes with the 'revolutionary' 'Compact Geometry' in a whopping three sizes, how generous!! Cutting edge material, with the same level of fit as that tricycle you had when you were 5! Oh boy, MUST HAVE!

Jaysus.

This from Giant's own website -

"Giant’s Compact Road design is arguably one of the most important developments to hit the peloton since Lycra."

You've got to be farken kidding me, right? Yeah, I see how you being a tight arse and only making 5 sizes and trying to squeeze everyone in there is 'important' - IMPORTANT MARKETING CRAP lowering your IMPORTANT COSTS and improving your IMPORTANT MARGINS. Tossers.

"By sloping the top tube downward toward the rear of the bike, two very important characteristics were achieved. First, the frame became stiffer for improved acceleration and more solid cornering. Second, the bike got lighter."

That's funny, because the laws of physics dictate that a shallower, more obtuse triangle is actually flexier than a less obtuse one. Obviously that's another one of Giant's 'Important developments' - defying the laws of physics.

"But what makes Giant’s Compact Road geometry truly superior is that only four frame sizes are needed to achieve a custom fit, for virtually every size of rider."

Obviously the word 'Custom' in Mandarin doesn't mean the same thing as it does in English, coz according to my dictionary. 'Custom' means - "Made to the specifications of an individual customer".

There ya go, that's my rant for the day.
Pointless trivia. Giant is located in Newbury Park, California. About 3 minutes from the BMW design studio that brought us the new Mini. The difference is, I saw the Mini way before it was a production vehicle for sale in the US. Never saw anyone from Giant tooling around on their newest bikes. I hope there's no point being made here. Anyone want me to get them a real world quote on having that bike odered through my LOSBS (Local Overseas Bike Shop) and shipped here? Should be about 50% cheaper than here.
