now, onto the bad news....$350 later I've got the 486 fixed.....bent derailuer hanger & spoke, turned into bent derailuer, hanger,spoke & 4 bent chain links......cos Shimano won't sell ya 4 links will they!...bah...anyway, she's all better, 'cept for the scratch (sob)......does anyone round here speak japanese?....I wanna post the bent derailuer on Japanese EBay as "3 months old" etc, etc....get some of me money back off the bastards that caused the bingle in the first place!
