depends on how well you climb...

I'd just sleep a little late in the morning and not worry about it-- it could be a four or so hour ride at a moderate pace, then you have a couple hours to snack/nap in palmdale before catching the train home. Or just wait til dawn and start riding, but I'd worry more about dawn commute traffic (even on a sunday) than the midnight to 4am traffic.
