I suppose she thinks that no bike repair should cost more than $80 because you can buy a bike for that much at Wal*Mart. Tell her that no car should cost more than the crappiest one you can find, either. I can buy a car for $1000, so no car repair on any car should cost more than that. I think you have to go down to a real junker used car to have the equivalent in car terms of an $80 Wal*Mart bike.
