1. Sheer ease of riding: don't have to think about changing gears or damaging gears, fewer moving parts to wear out, no derailleur voodoo. FG and track bikes are simpler and prettier than road bikes, mostly.
2. In 2004, I wanted a big BMX bike for commuting so I bought a C'dale 1FG MTB. It wasn't quite what I had in mind, but it was okay. I started riding road bikes pretty religiously in '05, and eventually got tired of fixing my derailleurs all the time, and wanted to try something new. I saw a photo of a Fuji Obey on a blog in early '08, knew I had to have one, and got started on the fixed.
3. A Redline BMX, C'dale and Schwinn MTBs, an awful C'dale hybrid, a C'dale road bike. Now I'm down to two bikes (Fuji Obey for track and Orbea Opal for road), and I'm building up a C'dale R1000 as a FG commuter.
