"Trans Am" is how SI identifies saddles with a slot down the middle. So a Flite Trans Am would be a Flite with a slit, basically.
I have Max TA's on both of my bikes as well. Just as was said in the other thread, it's a bit wider than the Flite, so you'd choose it if the spacing between your sit bones matches it better.
I had a Flite Gel once and hated it. But that just illustrates the basic premise: because it was slightly too narrow, my sit bones tended to straddle the wide part of the saddle more. This forced the center line of the saddle -- where a TA has a cutout -- right up into my perineal tissues. The lump of gel made it even worse, compressing the tissue even more. Painful.
