We're visiting my parents for the holidays but I couldn't make it away from home without at least one of my bikes on the back of the car...
My family doesn't quite understand the desire to go riding in cold, snow, and ice, but are (I think) proud that I've taken up a healthier form of transportation. Certainly no comments about me not acting like a normal person, as that's been par for the course for most of my life.
So this afternoon, while everyone else was taking a well-deserved nap (food coma), I hit some snowy roads that have nice thick sheets of rutted ice under the snow. Thank god for studded tires on the fixed gear...
And I literally didn't see a single car in my 20 miles.
