People seem to think we are fairly remote from similar events, but who knows. The quake that caused the tsunami apparently was bigger than ALL the quakes in the world in the past five years. 750 times bigger than the one in Iran (?). From what I gather, it was shifting of two ajdacnt plates in the earth's crust in the Indian Ocea. Maybe the one we had the other day in Tasmania was a precursor to the big one. Who knows.

I wonder what it would be like to ride a bike and have an earthquake occur underneath. Ours always seem to happen while we're asleep.
