The two bike thing never worked for my wife and me. You may find some tricks that make it better for both of you, we could not. Before we gave up we did as others here have, we went the tandem route and it opened up a whole new world to us. We loved it. We rode hard, could talk, it was a great new cycling experience. I really miss those days, my wife is no longer healthy enough to ride, even on the back.
