True V02max is all out and should be to the point that youre not looking down at the wattage and trying to control it like that .... Just my opinion.


I agree that Tabata style intervals are great but you have to account for what they will do. It will help your AWC but are NOT the best thing to raise your FTP or prepare for those 5 to 10 minute hard efforts you will have in road races and crits. High FTP is key for what we do. I cant get to that site you linked right now but does it compare the riders FTP before and after? ... again just my opinion based on training the exact same way as the Tabata method for inline speedskating for years on end.
