After my hamstring injury this time last year, I started riding again in April and quickly got a small base under me. I added these in May, just once a week. I was just in the 5's, but I won the last three crits I did. This year I plan to keep doing the 2x20's until late this month, then start adding Tabata's and sprint intervals. I think they're a great arrow to have in the quiver. But I don't plan to sell out to them entirely.
And it is a great workout if you're pressed for time.
