Reminds me of when I rented rollerblades at the skating ring one time. I hit the deck on my backside 3 times, and hit harder each time- figured I'd better quit before I broke something! Never tried 'em again. The moral is, learn those things when you're 3, not when you're 35 or something. (That was a while back.)
And a couple of ice-walking stories...hiked up to Horsetooth Rock one time. There was an icy patch in the trail, and just as I got to it, a man coming the other way fell down on it. "Poor doofus can't even walk on ice", I thought to myself. So a half hour later, I'm coming back down the trail, get to that same spot, and BOOM down on the hiney just like he did.
And another time it was snowy and icey out there, and I went all the way to the top (at night) and all the way back down and didn't fall once. I was patting myself on the back, and when I was walking across the parking lot to the car, I slipped on some ice and fell. Fortunately, I always fell on my behind, which is well padded.
