What do any of you recommend for bike shorts for distance riding (ie, over 100km)? I have three pairs of Cimas, made in NZ but with a weird chamois set-up. They're getting on to three years old, have been worn about 8,000km each, and are just about knackered (as is my arse from the GT1000). I have seen the Pearl Izumis (the Vicko who came down to suffer on the GT had them), along with recent adverts for them. Anyone with experience of the PIs? The upmarket Nettis? Anything else?

PI
Assos
Giordana (they make the Nike stuff for USPS)
Santini
Castelli
Nalini
Vermarc
Bioracer
Agu Sport
Cannibal

All excellent and I can recommend. Get the best you can afford and:
Wash on gentle cycle using a gentle soap...eg. a wool mix.
Dry in the shade, I hang them over a doorknob overnight.
Apply a quality chamois cream like Assos before each ride.

That should keep them in top nick (ha!) for a while......
