OK, another garage sale find today. Bought it right, so hopefully it will come out alright, as it is my first single speed or perhaps a two speed. It is a Schwinn Racer, serial # FG087127. Looked up the code, shows it to be a 1971 bike (it sure looks older than that to me).

Frame looks really solid, the rims and fenders will need the full oxalic treatment. Also, the rear hub is pretty large, and the bike freewheels backwards (at least now it does). I am guessing this is a two speed that needs some work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

After a long dry spell, I have picked up six bikes in the last week. So my stock of flippers is now replenished.
