As a mechanic this thread is really amsuing to me. I primarily am selling hi tech carbon bikes, but if someone wants me to go off about generator hubs I will in a heart beat. I occasionally have slightly awkward conversations when a customer I'm showing Scotts, Orbeas, or Cervelos too asks what I ride. I often dodge the question or make a nervous joke about having too many bikes.

"Uhh.. Its complicated. Now, the different layups of carbon..."

sneaks out the back door, friction bar end shifters in hand...
