I made them out of a piece of suede leather I bought from a fabric store. It was a sheet of 8x10 and cost me $8 and some 15 mins on the wife's sewing machine. Basically just winged it as far as the design went but It is doubled in thickness and they have yet to show any wear since I made them a couple months ago. The christophe straps I got on ebay for $8/pair and they're the best of the cheap-o straps out there so these doublers are really a very economical way to feel snug on the bike without $90 toshis.
took a pic of the doubler from the bottom so you can get an idea as to how easy it is. I double stitched them so they wouldn't break apart and even with pretty basic thread they hold up to brakeless riding.

Awesome! Thanks a lot. Now I just have to find me a wife with a sewing machine... I'll hit up my alterations lady and see what she can do with an 8"x10" piece of suede. Then, hell, it's on! and +1 on the christophe straps...I have the same ones.
