I agree that having to use modified cranks is an issue that will have to be addressed if these pedals are going to sell well, but it's cool that Dean has put so much effort/thought into them. People spend lots of time talking BS - it's awesome to see someone come up with an idea and make it happen.
It's also sad that most of the critique of them is completely off base or simply a superficial analysis of how "pimp" they look. I suppose he should offer a some fake emeralds embedded in the pedals...
Having seen and tried them he has a superior product it just needs some further work to get the manufacturing costs down while maintaining the essential elements of the design.
