I think they are as wide as a lot of tires labeled 700x32 tires. I always consider 32mm pretty standard for road touring. On the TA my weight ranged from 195-205 and I was not loaded extremely light. I thought 32mm were about ideal and could have lived with 28mms. If I weighed 145, I would be running something in the 25-28 range. Different strokes though.
