Are you talking about the acorn nut itself or the bushings on the D-ring? The acorn nuts were always chromed brass
AFAIK. Older skewers had the brass bushings on the D-ring; newer ones use some generic grey pot-metal type or something.
My old Zeus skewers also have brass bushings on their D-rings.
In general it looks like a pre-CPSC skewer, as was mentioned by T-Mar.
