well let me address some of these other posts,i looked at other bikes and settled on the xr200(aluminum and black) i had to make small adjustments no more than i would with a bikeshop bike i had no front brake drag problem and do some serious trail and road riding i recently bought a 2009 xr200 (burgundy and black)and after minor brake and gear adjusting i love this bike now remember wal-mart bike assembly people are not the best so if you buy from there be prepared to do some tweaks i added a bell gel seat for comfort generator light for night riding and a trunk/rack that i built from an electric scooter which i built a tail light into.i have been buying these since they first came out and i would rate this one as much improved over my last one great ride impressive looks and great bang for the buck why pay more for less mongoose always made great bikes and pacific cycle has a killer warranty and fast parts replacement and if you want a high end bike visit thier website.as far as buying specialized why spend $100 more dollars and not get daul suspension?really all four of my children threw away more expensive bike to get thier mongoose bikes (we sold the over price ones bought new cool dual suspension mongoose)with money left over and each child still had thiers in working condition as the each reached adulthood and still have them!!!
